Janu's Mask

Janus was experiencing severe pressure from the world around him. How he had to act, how he had to study, etc. That's why, he internally created a world where he can be with himself and his happy thoughts.

But a lie never stays alive, and as he grew up and became more and more successful, the lie weakened.

In the story, we see Janus, moving out of his house and going to live with his girlfriend, Maria. But as the end shows, he never really continued his relationship with her after he went missing from home.

The lamp (his idea about his successful world) was his only hope of holding the lie. But when he broke it, and finally show the lie, he couldn't go back. He knew the truth and he couldn't forget it. That means that sometimes we are so dragged into a lie that we can't realize that it's a lie, and it has become our reality.
